UPS Policies Ridiculous for my job.

I have a job where I receive multiple packages delivered to my address, open them, take digital photographs of the contents, weigh them on a postal scale, fill out a report, and forward them to intended recipients.
I like this job, it is easy, convenient, and pays well, but it becomes an issue when I cannot get a package delivered reasonably, since the name on the packages is not mine, I cannot go and pick them up at the warehouse because they will want an ID with the name on it.
UPS have proven to take this to a new level, and I wish that my employer would stop using them for shipping, and stick with FedEx, and USPS.
Case in point, I have been waiting all this week for a delivery of an item which is requesting a signature to deliver, but the driver has twice come to the house, and not even bothered to knock on the door to get the signature. Instead, he pulls up quickly, jumps out of the truck, sprints to the porch, and quietly leaves an info notice on the door saying delivery was attempted. So, after he did this to me twice, I realized that the next time they will send the package back, and I contacted them to ask if I could just come and pick it up. I informed them over the phone that the name was not the same, but they assured me that all I would need was an ID that had the correct address on it. THIS WAS A LIE....
I drove all the way across town, and went in to collect my package, only to be informed that I cannot because the names do not match. I inform him that I asked that EXACT question to the call center support agent, and was told that all I needed was to prove the residence in that address, to which he replied, and I kid you not, "Please Calm Down Sir, or I will have to ask you to leave."
So, I left, and went home to call UPS to find out why I was lied to before. At this point I am informed that the package will not be delivered any more, and it is set to be picked up. Thi9s is concerning, so I ask if this can be changed, and after being put on hold for like 20 minutes, the lady comes back and informs me that since it was too late at night to put it in the next day deliveries, I would have to wait until the following day. This was Friday evening, and so now I have wait until Tuesday to try and get the package delivered!!
